Animal Print Crochet Bag Pattern - Cruelty Free Crochet

Sharing is caring!

An Animal Print Crochet Pattern Bag that's friendly to animals. While most of us can’t even afford animal print, why would we spend the money when we can create crochet items ourselves? Not to mention is a more animal-friendly option. The best cute bag accessory option is to go faux, and even better crochet it yourself!

Animal print is so popular right now. And to have those cute bag accessories, the best option is to go faux, and, even better, crochet it yourself! I recently heard a story about a famous person wearing real animal fur inspired me to create this animal print purses fashion.

Why You Should Crochet Animal Print

  1. Unique and Stylish Design: Crocheting an animal print bag allows you to create a one-of-a-kind accessory with a unique and stylish design. Animal prints are timeless and can add a touch of sophistication and boldness to your outfit, making your bag stand out.
  2. Personalized Fashion Statement: Crocheting your own animal print bag allows you to express your personal style and creativity. You can choose the specific animal print pattern, colors, and size that resonate with your fashion preferences, making it a truly personalized fashion statement.
  3. Customizable Size and Shape: Crocheting your bag gives you the freedom to customize its size and shape according to your needs and preferences. Whether you prefer a small clutch, a medium-sized tote, or a large shoulder bag, you have control over the dimensions, ensuring the bag suits your lifestyle.
  4. Cost-Effective Alternative: Making your own animal print bag can be a cost-effective alternative to buying a designer bag with a similar print. You have the flexibility to choose affordable materials and control the overall cost of the project while still achieving a fashionable result.
  5. Eco-Friendly Option: By crocheting your own bag, you have the opportunity to choose eco-friendly and sustainable materials. You can use organic or recycled yarn, reducing your environmental impact and contributing to a more sustainable fashion choice.
Animal Print Bag

Do you love animal-themed crochet bag patterns?

I've had so much fun creating a variety of patterns that either look like animals, like the Fish Crochg Bag Free Pattern, or have animal prints, like the Sheep Crochet Project Bag Pattern.

And if you are into bags that might be less cutesy and more modern, I also have the Nettleton Crochet Bag, and the Hygge Infinity Crochet Clutch for a smaller option, both are perfect for a coffee date.

What type of print is this animal bag?

I wanted to combine a few animal prints, so there is a bit of leopard, cheetah, and even zebra print. This is why it's so fun to create; it's so unique.

I love supporting faux animal artists because they care where their materials come from. They know about their product and choose the best for the animals and customers.

It’s also often more sustainable and environmentally friendly to go with the faux option. Your friends will love you more for not killing a tiger for the stripes.

I hope this unique animal print bag is an awesome accessory in your closet and a great way to celebrate the beauty of animals without harming them.

Yarn:
• I Love This Cotton
Antique Gold (Gold)
Burnt Sienna (Red)
Black
Ivory

Yardage:
• Approx. 410 Yards [375 meters]

Measurements:
• 8.5 inches (21 cm) wide
• 9 inches (23 cm) tall
Bag laid flat.

Abbreviations:
• blo- back loop only
• ch- Chain
• RS- Right Side
• sc- Single Crochet
• sts- Stitches

Pattern Notes:

– This pattern is worked in the round. The ch 1 at the beginning of the round does not count as a stitch.

– Since there are a wrong side and a right side to the bag, a combination of intarsia and carrying yarn can be used on the inside of the bag for the colorwork. Experiment and see what works best for you.

– Please visit Colorwork in Crochet for a full tutorial on colorwork as well as a FREE Sheep Yarn Bobbin Printable to assist you with this project. No one loves tangles.

– Here is a fun tutorial if you want to add a No-Sew Bag Liner.

– When the pattern is written as sc 3 this means to sc in each of the next three stitches (3 stitches in total worked). When the pattern is written as 3sc, this means to sc 3 into the next stitch.

Bag Tabs (Make 2):

Row 1: Ch 6, sc in the second chain from hook and across, turn. (5 sts)

Row 2-14: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across, turn.

How to Make an I-cord Strap:

With red yarn chain 5, insert hook into the second chain from hook, yo, pull up a loop; repeat for the remaining chains. (5 loops on the hook)

*Remove the first 4 left loops from the hook and pinch so they don’t move or use a knitting needle or chop stitch to hold them.

Chain the loop on the hook. Place the next loop to the left-back onto hook and chain 1, repeating this step until all loops are back on the hook.

Repeat from * until the i-cord is approx. 50 inches or desired length.
