Horse Set Knit by Briana K Designs

This Newborn Horse Knit Pattern comes with two unique instructions for the mane and tail. The first option is to make the main and tail out of yarn..YES Yarn!!!!

I walk you through some steps to create you own fur look. The second option is to use a faux fur fabric and attach it to the hat and pants. I have detailed where to purchase, how to cut, and how to attach. This is a fun project for those who just love horses!!!

Supplies:

Knitting Needles:

5.5 mm (9) Straight Needles
5.5 mm (9) DPN’s or Magic Loop Method

Notions:

Tapestry Sewing Needle
Stitch Marker
Stitch Holder for Pants
Faux Fur- Alpaca Brown
Sewing Thread and Needle
Scissors
Tape Measure
Wire Brush (brand new dog brush works best)
Iron

Yarn:

Red Heart with Love in color Tan (main color)
Read Heart Super Saver- Baby Pink
Red Heart Soft Chocolate if making the mane from yarn

Yardage:

Approx. 135 yards for hat and pants. An additional 70 yards is needed if making your own fur (yarn) mane.

Abbreviations/Stitches:

sts- stitches
k- knit
p- purl
CO- cast on
k2tog- knit two stitches together
p2tog- purl two stitches together
Knit Loop Stitch- for making own fur from yarn

Gauge:

 4 x 4 inches = 16 Stitches by 22 Rows
