Barley Yarn, 9mm hook
1-3 years (4-7 years, 8-12 years, teen/adult)
Row 1: Fdc 10 (12, 14, 16), ch 2 and turn [or chain 11 (13, 15, 17), dc in second chain from hook and across] (wrong side) 10 (12, 14, 16)
Row 2: dc in first 9 (11, 13, 15), 2dc in next, 4dc around the end of the fdc row, now working around the other side, 2dc in next, dc 9 (11, 13, 15), turn and ch 2 (right side) 26 (30, 34, 38)
Row 3: dc 8 (10, 12, 14), (2dc in next, dc 2) three times, 2 dc in next, dc 8 (10, 12, 14), turn and ch 2. 30 (34, 38, 42)
Row 4: dc in each across, turn and ch 2. 30 (34, 38, 42)

Front Edging
Attach yarn to front opening of the hood, reverse sc (1 stitch per end row) evenly around, join and fasten off, weave in ends.
OR
Attach yarn to the front opening of the hood, and single crochet around opening.

Neck Warmer Insert (optional)
Start with medium soft taupe yarn, 5mm hook
1-3 years (4-7 years, 8-12 years, teen/adult)
Row 1:
Work in the blo on the inside of round 3 of the hooded cowl. Fold the bottom of the cowl down so you can easily work on this round. The wrong side of your work will face outward. Join yarn, ch 2, dc 2 in every blo loop from round 3, join and ch 2. 64 (72, 80, 88)
Row 2: dc in each stitch around, join and ch 2. 64 (72, 80, 88)
For 1-3 years repeat this row 7 more times
For 4-7 years repeat this row 8 more times
For 8-12 years repeat this row 9 more times
For teen/adult repeat this row 10 more times
Row 3: *dc2tog, dc in next 6; repeat * around, join and ch 2. 56 (64, 72, 80)
Row 4: *dc2tog, dc in next 5; repeat * around, join and ch 2. 48 (56, 54, 72)
Rows 5-6: *fpdc in first, bpdc in next; repeat* around, join and ch 2. At end of round 6, o not chain 2. Join, fasten off, and weave in ends. 48 (56, 54, 72)
Nose
Charisma Red, 9mm hook
Round 1: sc 6 inside magic cirlcle, work in continuous rounds without joining (6)
Round 2: *2 sc in first, sc in next; repeat * around (9)
Round 3: sc in each around (9)
Round 4: sc2tog, sc in next; repeat * around (6)
Leave a tail, fasten off, and sew onto the top middle front of neck insert.
Ears (Make 2)
Start with Fleece Yarn, 9mm hook
Row 1: Ch 5, sc in second chain from hook and next 2, sc 2 in last, working around the other side, sc 3.
Join Barley yarn, turn and ch 1. (8)
Row 2: sc 3, 2 sc in each of the next 2, sc 3, turn and ch 1 (10)
Row 3: sc 4, 2 dc in each of the next 2, sc 4, leaving a long tail, fasten off. (12)
Antlers (Make 2)
Start with Fleece Yarn, 9mm hook
Two spikes will be made and then joined together to form the antler.
Round 1: sc 4 inside magic circle, work in continuous rounds without joining (4)
Round 2: *2 sc in first, sc in next; repeat * around (6)
Round 3: Sc in each around (6)
Fasten off for first spike and set aside for round 5,
Repeat round 1-3 again for second spike, and then continue to
Round 4: Sc in each around
Round 5: To join smaller spike to larger spike: sc2tog the first stitch of the larger spike to the first stitch of the smaller spike, sc 4, sc2tog next stitch on small spike and next stitch on large spike, sc 4 (see picture below) (10)
Rounds 6-10: Sc in each around. At the end of round 10, fasten off and sew to the top of hood on rows 3-4. Sew ears on round 4 just below the antlers. (10)
