Rumplemintz Crochet Hat

A fun and festive winter Rumplemintz hat or slouchy! This pattern is made with a split stitch that mimics the look of knit!

4.0 mm (G) hook

Stitch Marker 
Yarn Needle  to weave in ends
Scissors 
Faux Fur Fabric for optional pompom

Yarn:

Cascade 220 Sport 
Color A: Ruby; Color B: White 
As long as gauge is met, these yarns can be substituted:

Yardage:

Newborn 120 yards; Baby 190 yards; Toddler 210 yards; Preschool 250 yards, Child 270 yards; Teen/Adult 290 yards; Adult 310 yards

Abbreviations/Stitches:

sc- Single Crochet (split stitch for this pattern, instructions below) 
sl st- Slip Stitch 
ch- Chain 
fpsc- Front Post Single Crochet 
bpsc- Back Post Single Crochet 

Gauge:

22 rows x 17 sc = 4 inch x 4 inch in sc split stitch. Adjust hook size to obtain gauge if needed. 

Measurements/Sizes:

Newborn 7 ½ wide by 7 ¼ tall; Baby 8 wide by 8 tall; Toddler 9 wide by 9 tall; Preschool 9 ½ wide by 10 tall, Child 10 wide by 11 tall; Teen/Adult 10 ¾ wide by 12 tall; Adult 11 ¼ by 12 ¼ tall
