Crochet Supplies I Actually Use
I’ve been designing patterns since 2014, which means I’ve tried a ridiculous number of hooks, markers and blocking gadgets. These are the ones that earned a spot in my bag.

Blocking Mats
Every garment gets blocked. It’s the difference between homemade and handmade.

Quick Questions
What supplies do I need to start crocheting?
A hook, yarn, scissors, a yarn needle and a few stitch markers. That’s it.
What size hook should a beginner use?
A 5 mm (H) hook with worsted weight yarn is the easiest place to start.
Do I really need blocking mats?
For garments and granny squares, yes. Blocking evens out your stitches and sets the size.
