Quick Tip

Did you know that our tension can vary depending on our mood? To ensure that our garments turn out just right, let's make sure we maintain consistent sizing. A quick tip is to check the gauge every 10-20 rounds and make any necessary adjustments.

Right Front

Row 1 (RS):

Sk first 70 sts, join with 30 (35, 40, 40, 45) (50, 55, 60, 65) sts in pattern, turn. 30 (35, 40, 40, 45) (50, 55, 60, 65) sts

Rows 2-59:

Rep established st rep of relevant size and st count. If adjustements to length were done on the back, crochet the same amount of rows for the front.

Row 60:

Ch 1, SC in each st across, fasten off.

Left Front with Sleeves

Row 1 (RS):

Sk 10 (5, 5, 10, 10) (10, 10, 5, 5) sts (center Neck), join with sl st in next st, work 100 (105, 110, 110, 115) (120, 125, 130, 135) sts in patt, turn. | 85 (85, 90, 95, 100) (105, 110, 110, 115) sts.

Some of the sizes will change charts or st instructions for this section to be either a 10 st repeat or a 10+5 st repeat.
Fasten off.

Bag Accessory

Want a great accessory to go with this outfit? Check out the Just A Crochet Rectangle Bag. It's quick, easy, and has a great texture that will coordinate well.

Sleeves & Back

Row 1 (RS):

Work the first 30 (35, 40, 40, 45) (50, 55, 60, 65) sts in patt, leave the remaining unworked, turn. 30 (35, 40, 40, 45) (50, 55, 60, 65) sts

Rows 2-59:

Rep established st rep of relevant size and st count. If length adjustments were made on the back, crochet the same number of rows for the front.

Row 60:

Ch 1, SC in each st across, fasten off.

Seaming

Block to measurements. Fold the sweater in half with RS facing out and WS together. With the preferred seaming method, sew front to back at the side seam, beg at the bottom hem, working to underarm, then seam across the sleeve in one continuous seam. Rep for the other side.

Hem Ribbing

Row 1:

Join with sl st in the bottom corner of Left Front, ch 6, SC in 2nd ch from hook and across back towards body edge, sl st in next 2 sts on the bottom edge of the body, turn. | 5 SC, 2 sl sts.

Rep Rows 2-3 around bottom edge. Do not fasten off.

Front Opening Ribbing

Row 2:

Sk 2 sl sts, blo SC 5, turn.

Row 3:

Ch 1, blo SC 5, sl st in next 2 sts (1 stitch per SC edge row and 2 sl sts per DC row, around the neckline), turn.

Next Rows:

Rep Rows 2-3 for ribbing around Neck.

On the corners of the neck, skip some edge stitches to reduce the amount of rows so it lays nicely, see video.

Join last row to beginning row by slip stitching through blo of first and last row at the same time.
Fasten off.

Thank you for joining me in creating this beautiful crochet cardigan with its open stitch pattern and delicate picot details.

Crocheted with a luxurious blend of acrylic and merino yarn, this cardigan is as comfortable as it is stylish. And if you want even more style in your crochet wardrobe, try your hand at the Easy Stitch Crochet Cardi Pattern or the Classic Granny Stitch Dress.

To keep your handmade garment looking its best, hand wash it in cold water with a gentle detergent and lay it flat to dry, reshaping it as needed. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric to maintain its structure and prevent stretching.

When storing your cardigan, fold it carefully and place it in a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust and moths. I hope you enjoy wearing your new cardigan as much as I enjoyed designing it!

Cheers, and happy crocheting!
