Sometimes the weather gets a little dark and dreary during the cold months. Crochet is great for that, with its bright colors and fun designs. And what's more fun and happy than unicorns? This unicorn crochet pattern for cozy, warm mittens will brighten up your life for sure.

Colorwork for Unicorn Crochet Pattern

This is a fair isle crochet pattern, creating color work that's sophisticated and chic. The single crochet stitches for these mittens are worked in the center 'V' of each stitch, which results in the split single crochet (ssc) or waistcoat stitch. It helps the colorwork in crochet line up a little bit better.

Working Crochet Mittens in the Round

The Unicorn Crochet Pattern for these mittens is worked in the round continuously to avoid an unsightly seam. The Yarn for This Unicorn Crochet Pattern

The yarn is the most important part to the look of these mittens. The WeCrochet Chroma Fingering yarn has some excellent colorways. I think I found the perfect combination for these mittens, but I could also see them in other colorways as well. Or if you wanted solid colors contrasting colors there will still be a dramatic pop. I just like this because it has that rainbow effect which is whimsical like the unicorn itself.
