Dove Pullover - Easy Crochet Pattern

Sharing is caring!

When I say easy, I mean really easy. The Dove Crochet Pullover has only two seams and is created in one piece! It's no secret that I love simple, two-seam construction - but there is a little secret I’ve been hiding about this design. Want to know what it is?

The Dove Pullover is the adult version of the Easy Cuff-to-Cuff Child Sweater! You wouldn’t believe how often I get asked about an adult version of that design, and here it is! Yep - this sweater has been hiding in plain (well, sort of) sight! With its beautiful drape and textured stitches, this pullover is a wardrobe staple! If you love the idea of matching sweaters, make sure to check out the Autumn Wheat Sweater! The pattern is available in both children AND adult sizes!

A lit candle, two skeins of beige yarn labeled "Swish," a crochet hook, a tapestry needle, scissors, and a stitch marker are arranged on a white surface with decorative snowy foliage—perfect for working on your Dove Pullover - Easy Crochet Sweater Pattern.

How to Crochet A Gauge Swatch

Working a gauge swatch will let you know if you will have the correct sizing for this pattern. It will also help you practice the stitches used in this project and improve your stitch work for a flawless look.
Are you struggling to match the gauge? Check out the blog post on What is Crochet Gauge and How To Fix It

Gauge Swatch Instructions

Start by chaining 26 sts, follow the Chart for Size XS (or the written instructions) for a total of 15 rows. Use a tape measure or gauge tool to determine the stitches per width and rows per height of the swatch. Adjust as needed.

Construction

The Dove Pullover boasts a unique construction that begins at one arm, flows gracefully across the body, effortlessly creating a neckline, and continues to the other arm. This ingenious approach allows the stitch pattern to showcase itself sideways, resulting in long, elegant lines across the front of the sweater.

Love two-seam construction? The Autumn Wheat Cardi and the Sparrow Sweater are made in a similar style!

Sizing Tip

  • It's easy to adjust the length of the pullover to be custom to your body. Simply chain more or fewer chains for the body portion of the pullover. Be sure to match the same amount of stitches to the left and the right of the arm. This is also how many chains to skip when working the second sleeve.
  • Want this sweater to be less form-fitting? Go up a size from your bust size to add more ease. This will create more of an oversized sweater with wiggle room.
