About this crochet baby boot pattern:

The top of these booties features a fold-down cuff that is worked in rows and left open in the front. Leaving the perfect space to top it off with a crochet tassel. Since these are worked as one piece, and in the round, it's a quick and easy pattern to work up for your little one, or as a last-minute gift.

This crochet baby pattern was originally published in 2017 and updated to a new format with a video tutorial in 2021. It always feels good to freshen up and re-release.

About the Yarn:

When this pattern was first published, I used Knit Picks Reverie, but that yarn has since been discontinued, so I've updated with new yarn choices and the same cuteness.

I still wanted the cuff and the tassels to have a puffy and soft look, so going with WeCrochet Snuggle Puff was the right choice. And I kept the body of the baby bootie in the squishy WeCrochet Swish Worsted Yarn, which has a lot of beautiful color choices.

Why it's important to choose the right yarn:

For a little baby, we don't want to use anything that might be an irritant or scrathy. Especially since it's such a small project, we want to use the best possible yarn choices.

The yarns I hand-picked for this project are easy to wash and super soft. However, if you are afraid of any type of wool allergy, a great substitution for the body would be an acrylic yarn such as WeCrochet Brava Worsted.

Why Make Cute Crochet Baby Shoes?

Like many crocheters, I got my start when I found myself pregnant with my first child. I wanted to make my baby something cute and special for my little one.

Not only are crochet baby shoes functional, but they are also comfortable for a baby. And I've included a video tutorial to guide you through each step of baby these baby crochet boots. That way, if you are a beginner or advanced crocheter, you can enjoy the process of creating for a special arrival.

Baby Snow Boots Front Tassel:

Cut 4 strands of yarn approx. 6 inches long. Tie a lark’s head knot by folding the 4 strands in half down the middle and pulling through the front middle stitch on the folded cuff, making a large loop. Pull the remaining ends of the yarn through the large loop and pull the knot tightly. Trim strands to the desired length.
