How to Crochet Mini Carrots – Perfect for Easter

Nothing says spring quite like cheerful little carrots — especially when they’re crocheted.

This mini crochet carrot pattern is part of the charming Carrots & Cottontails Crochet Garland, which adds the perfect pop of playful texture between the bunny motifs.

A woman holds a basket filled with three crocheted carrots on shredded paper, surrounded by greenery. Close-up views of the crochet carrots and a Crochet Bunny Head Pattern are also shown.

Each carrot is worked in the round from the tip upward, creating a smooth tapered shape that looks just like a tiny garden carrot. With simple stitches and minimal shaping, these little carrots are a fun and relaxing crochet project that works up quickly.

Whether you’re creating the full garland or using them as decorations on their own, these mini carrots bring a touch of handmade whimsy to any spring display. Add a few Reusable Easter Eggs and fill a sweet Granny Stitch Bunny Basket for Easter!

Once the body of the carrot is complete, the leafy top is added to finish the design and give it that unmistakable garden-fresh look. These mini carrots can be used individually as small spring decorations, or they can be combined with the bunny motifs to create the Carrots & Cottontails Crochet Garland.

These carrots are the perfect accessory for a Wheat Stitch™ Bunny or a Bunny Buddy!

Fasten off, leaving a long tail, and finish stuffing. Cut 6-7 strands of green yarn (add twine for a rustic look), approx. 6 inches long. Holding the strands together, tie a knot in the center. Place the knot inside the carrot top, with the strands sticking out.

Using your yarn needle and tail end, weave through the front loop of each remaining st, pull closed, and weave in the end.

For a softer, fluffier carrot top, untwist and separate the strands.

Three mini crocheted carrots tied with twine rest on a wooden tray, surrounded by green artificial leaves and a white cloth—perfect decor alongside your favorite Crochet Bunny Head Pattern projects.
